Check out the benefits of adding a wood pellet grill:
Wood pellet grills & smokers are very easy to use. Simply add the hardwood pellets to the hopper, plug it in, set the temperature, and go. Most pellet grills are ready to use in as little as 15 minutes and have a generous pellet capacity for long cooks.
Pellet smoker grills are versatile! You can grill, bake, roast, or smoke food for hours. Whether you want to sear a steak, smoke ribs, or even bake cookies, you can do almost anything with a wood pellet grill.
Pellet grills give you a stable cooking temperature and heat control by monitoring it and adjusting it for you. The result: less worry for you, more mouth-watering food for everybody! Whether you want to cook low and slow or hot and fast, or even cold-smoke (with the proper attachment), you can do so much with a pellet smoker.
Hardwood pellets come in a variety of delicious flavors to choose from including: hickory, apple, pecan, mesquite, oak, cherry, maple, original, turkey, and alder. We encourage you to mix them up and create your own custom flavor!

Is a pellet smoker worth it?
Yes, a wood pellet grill & smoker is absolutely worth it! The pellet grilling experience is remarkably simple and convenient: all you have to do is turn the grill on, choose your heat setting, and let the temperature control unit take care of the rest. There are even WiFi pellet grills that allow you to monitor every little detail of your cook without having to stay near the grill! Worth it, indeed.
How do I choose a pellet smoker?
That’s a complicated question that takes time, research, and consideration… which is exactly why we created a pellet grill buying guide to walk you through the process!
Do pellet smokers need electricity?
Yes. Though pellet smokers burn wood pellets for low-and-slow cooking, they need electricity to run the digital controller that makes it all happen.
Can you leave pellets in the hopper?
We don’t recommend leaving pellets in the hopper, especially if you live in a high-humidity environment where moisture in the atmosphere will cause the pellets to disintegrate. Instead, empty the hopper after each cook and store your pellets in an airtight container in a dry location. You might be able to get away with leaving pellets in the hopper if you live in a dry climate and cook often, but we don’t think it’s worth the risk.
Do pellet grills smoke a lot?
They do, but the level of smoke produced from their wood-fired cooking is always regulated by the digital controller. Because of their design and pinpoint heat control, pellet smokers completely combust their fuel and can’t over-smoke food to the point of leaving a creosote taste.
Is it OK to leave a pellet grill outside?
It’s totally fine to leave a pellet grill out in the elements, but it’ll be much better off with a grill cover to block out the worst weather effects. (When left uncovered, the materials used in construction will break down and/or rust much more quickly.) If you live in an area with harsh winters, we strongly recommend winterizing your grill to ensure it’s ready to go for grilling season.
Can a pellet grill get wet?
You shouldn’t allow your pellet grill to get wet. Not only will the electrical components within the grill be compromised, but the pellets themselves will also revert back to sawdust. That’s why it’s a good idea to always keep your grill covered when not in use.
How long does a 20lb bag of pellets last?
The exact duration depends on your pellet grill’s rate of fuel consumption, your set temperature, and the ambient temperature outside. But in general, you can expect a burn rate of 1–3 lbs. per hour. So, on average, a 20-lb. bag should last roughly 10 hours.
Is cooking on a pellet grill healthy?
There’s no substantial evidence that cooking on a wood pellet grill & smoker is any healthier than grilling with gas or charcoal. However, a pellet grill can be a relatively healthy option if you’re eating leaner foods and avoiding oils and fats.
